These pictures of my 1955 Cessna 170B N3498C were made at Pagosa Springs, CO (elevation 7700ft) in June, 1999 during the last stop on the Poker Run at the Cessna 170 Association's convention at Durango, CO. That's Pagosa Peak in the background. Photos courtesy of Louise and Cleo Bickford, Cypress, TX.

Since 1982, '98C and I have spent 1200 hours visiting 31 states from Florida to Washington and from Delaware to California. Although I wasn’t around at the time, ‘98C even has a trip to Havana, Cuba in her logbooks. My goal is to get ‘98C to 49 states and all of the Canadian provinces and territories. This summer (2000), I plan on picking up British Columbia, Alberta, The Yukon, and Alaska enroute to and from the 170 Convention in Anchorage.

Closer to home, ‘98C serves as a Young Eagle Hauler (48, as of January 2000), and as a VC- 170 VIP transport for Chapter 1000’s Project Police (3 raids on Flabob). Weather permitting, she is also available for spur of the moment $100 omelet and hamburger runs, and old buzzard rides.
